LAGOON - What Fun
This was our first trip to "Lagoon" for the season. Lynn and I bought everyone season's passes. We love to go and watch the kids have a ball. (we like the rides also) Nica is finally tall enough to go on "Wicked" a super scary roller coaster (I always close my eyes on this one) but wasn't brave enough to go without her Dad. (He couldn't be there that afternoon) Since Kelly and James and family are in Germany we bought them season passes to Legoland.
Oma's sleepover 4/9/2010
We had so much fun at my last sleepover. We had pizza and bread sticks for dinner then we did our usual crafts, this time we painted bird houses. Then they all got ready for bed and according to my sleepover Journal, that the girls made for me, it was Dani's turn to pick the movie. I sleep on the couch downstairs with the girls. The next morning we went to Village Inn for breakfast and then the girls and I went to the school next door to play on their equipment. At my house the girls did jump rope and bubbles. When it was time to take them home we made a quick run through McDonalds drive through for lunch. I love our sleepovers.
Happy Birthday Grandma Stewart
Lynn's mom, Leola Stewart, died on Feb. 2, 2009. On April 9, 2010 she would have been 86 had she lived. To honor her Lynn, Stacy, Ryan and I went to the Bountiful, LDS Temple on March 30, Lynn's birthday. She was a wonderful lady and was truly like a mother to me.

HAPPY EASTER
Easter was great except for the snow on the ground. We had an inside Easter Egg Hunt and the girls loved it. After the hunt we had lunch which was some yummy soup and sandwiches. Then we watched a DVD from Grandpa Phippen's birthday flight on the B-17 bomber. After that we watched the LDS conference on TV. It was wonderful having the everyone there. Next year at this time we will also be able to include the Longmores. One of the greatest blessing in my life is family. There is nothing sweeter than a smile and a hug from a grandchild.

Early Birthday Present for my Dad, Arthur Phippen (April 27, 1924)
In World War II my Dad was a mechanic and worked on the B-17's, B-24's and B-29 bombers. He repaired the gun turrets. He did this when he was stationed in Italy.
For his birthday my siblings and I decided to surprise him with a flight on a B-17 bomber. The Liberty Bell was going to be in Salt Lake for two days so I reserved him a spot on the 1:30 pm flight on Saturday the 3rd of April. It was a great day.
Mike and Julie and Bob and LuAnn got there before us. Bob and Lu brought Dad. My son Brian was also able to make it. Bob and Lu hadn’t told Dad that he was going to fly on the plane yet; they waited for Lynn and I to be there to tell him. He was excited just to go and see the plane. Then we took him over to look at souvenirs and I filled out the paper work and paid for the flight. I called Dad over to sign the release form. I just said, "Dad come here and sign this", so he did. I think he would have signed over his life savings without questioning me about what he was signing. Anyway I asked him if he knew what he was signing and he said no. I told him that he was going to get the fly on the B-17 bomber. He was so excited it made me get a little teary eyed.
There were 10 people on the flight including Sterling Poulson from the channel 2 news, he is the weather guy. Dad was the oldest veteran there so they let him fly up in the cockpit. They also have a panel on the door of the plane where they have any veterans sign. When the door is full they take the panel off and put it in a museum then put on a new panel. Dad got to sign the door.
Then after the plane landed we all got to go in it and sit in the pilots chair and stuff. Dad said it was easier to move around in the plane when he was younger. When we were done we all went to one of Dad's favorite places for lunch, Chuck a Rama. It was a great Day. Thanks to all my siblings (Mike, Julie & Mike, Bob and Lu, Nancy and Raymond, Janet) for going in on this for an early birthday present for Dad. Give him a call I know he'd love to tell you all about it.

Lynn's Surprise Birthday Party
Lynn planned his own surprise birthday party. It was actually a surprise for the granddaughters. We went to the Classic Fun Center in Layton, Utah. We roller skated. Dani and Britti did the races and most of us did the Hokey Pokey. A few of us were pretty unsteady on their feet (Brian, Roger, Wendy, Me and Lynn). Then we played Laser Tag and Ryan had the highest score. The girls, (Nica, Britti and Dani) bounced on the big inflated things and also climbed through the pirates cove. It was a fun night!! Thanks Honey (OPA)
